Install Farsi Language for Windows XP is a lightweight utility that helps you enable Persian (Farsi) support on legacy Windows XP PCs. It guides you through installing the required language files, turning on right-to-left and complex script support, and adding the Persian keyboard layout—so Persian text displays correctly and you can type in Farsi across most applications.

Key features

  • Enables right-to-left and complex script support in Windows XP
  • Adds the Persian (Farsi) keyboard layout and input method
  • Guided setup that detects missing components and prompts for the Windows XP installation files or CD when needed
  • Minimal footprint, no background services, and no unnecessary system changes

What to expect

  • Improves display and input of Persian text in browsers, Office apps, and everyday software on XP
  • Does not fully translate the Windows interface; full UI localization requires a matching Microsoft MUI pack available only for select XP editions

System requirements

  • Windows XP Home or Professional (Service Pack 2 or 3, 32-bit)
  • Administrator privileges
  • Access to the original Windows XP installation media or i386 setup folder may be required
  • A few megabytes of free disk space

How to use

  1. Close open applications and run the installer as an Administrator.
  2. Follow the on-screen steps. If prompted, provide the path to the XP installation source (e.g., CD drive or C:\Windows\i386).
  3. Restart Windows when the setup finishes.
  4. Verify or adjust input settings: Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > Languages > Details. Ensure Persian (Farsi) is added.
  5. Switch keyboards using Left Alt+Shift or the Language Bar.

Troubleshooting tips

  • If Persian characters appear as boxes, make sure “Install files for complex script and right-to-left languages” is enabled under Regional and Language Options.
  • If the Language Bar is missing, right-click the taskbar, select Toolbars, and enable Language Bar.

Note: This tool targets legacy systems. Windows XP is no longer supported by Microsoft; use in secure, offline, or controlled environments where appropriate.
